"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Ultimately I would like to embed this control into my own vb project. Right now I would just like to use the control on its own.

If I open the project file and try to run the project nothing happens. Im assuming I have to add a form and put the control on that form. I have been unable to make this work. In addition, it will not Start with Full Compile.
There should be a project group file (*.vbg extension).  Open that.  Follow this link to see what creating an ActiveX control entails, as  well as steps on how to run/debug an ActiveX control in design mode:

Public rectMargins As RECT   im getting user defined type not defined.....

Can you see if you get the same thing? Do i need to reference something?
I don't's possible the author of the code used an API type library or something.  Go to Project -> References and see if anything selected/checked says "MISSING".  Otherwise, it's possible that a module with the user-defined types or other API declarations is missing from the project.  Do you get any errors when you first open the project group?  I'm about to leave for the day but if you're still having problems tomorrow, I'll download the project and see what if I experience the same issue.
