Connect to MySql Db from ASP driven website using Dreamweaver

I have looked all over to find a way to connect to a MySql db using DW. I understand that Macromedia does not support connection to MySql from an ASP driven website. I have an IP address + user information to MySql db.

i believe you can use the ODBC connector from the MYSQL site (downloads area) to create a datasource connection which you can access using ASP.

I am using this string to connect:
<%
'Connectionstring
Dim objConn, objRS
Set objConn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
Set objRS = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
objConn.ConnectionString="DRIVER={MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver};SERVER=xxx.xxx.xxx.x;DATABASE=volare;UID=volare;PWD=xxxxxx;"
objConn.Open
%>
In dreamweaver it shows that the connection is a succes, but I can not see the tables.

The Phakt extension is only for PHP sites. This is an ASP website.

nilu-72,

cmc2006 is right,  you need to use the mysql odbc connector to use mysql with asp.

and
