Software for Switch/Router testing?

What I would like to do is to virtually arrange a LAN using some software.

I want to do this because I want to see if the throughput is sufficent.

I'd like it to have a good graphical interface where you sort of "drag" TP-cables between switches and routers etc...

Any program capable of this?

I was thinking more of a way to simulate the switch/router usage, not just drawing them...

I have used Optiview (http://www.flukenetworks.com/us/LAN/Monitoring+Analysis+Diagramming/OptiView+Console/Overview.htm) with great success.  It will map your network including switch ports.  You can then create a Visio of your network and make whatever modifications you want before implementing the changes.  It will also show you utilization of ports on a switch.

But Q-check is not a simulator right? Because what I want to do is to simulate a network before I invest in expensive switches/routers.
