Outlook 2002 opens attachments from the preview paine very slowly

Ok, the only way my boss will ever open an e-mail is through the preview paine.  When you open something from the preview paine it takes almost 2 minutes to open.  If you open the e-mail then open the same word/excel document it will open instantly.  This is on a citrix server and we have an Exchange 2000 server.  I have never had this happen before... all add-ins are disabled so that cant be it and it did it when they were on too.
Thank you for your time and help in advance... i am hoping it is an id10t error on my part.

Some elaboration on the problem (as i was just made aware of it)  After i open office file from the preview paine lets say word, after i open the first word file which takes about 2 minutes then all other word files load quickly untill outlook is closed and reopened.  And if you open the e-mail it always loads instantly.  I hope this makes sense to someone...
Thanks again.

Hi,

This may be because of a recent Windows Update.

See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=918165 for explanation and fix

Or do this (which is a quick way of doing what MS suggest):
Copy the following to the clipboard (it's all one line even if wrapped in your browser - paste into notepad and remove line breaks if necessary, and copy again)
Click Start, run
Paste into the dialogue box and hit return.

==Copy below here==
REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensions\Cached" /v "{A4DF5659-0801-4A60-9607-1C48695EFDA9} {000214E6-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} 0x401" /t REG_DWORD /d 1

Nothing else come to me in the moment but maybe the above has been the problem.

Yeah I am going to reboot the server tonight, in my experience (or possibly supersticion) that seems to help registry changes cement in.  I will let you know and award points in the morning.
Thanks

Ok, it was better.  Any other ideas?  I may be biased and it wasnt actually better.  But they have given up complaining about it.  If only they would open the e-mail then open the attachment... that would make things easier.  Do you think reinstallign outlook would do it?  I have tried that before and it didnt do anything. If you attach a file by hitting file send to as attachment in word or something the message will get gummed up into the outbox too.  Outlook just seems to be messed up.  I will try running the updates on it again.  Any ideas?
