Problems with Pegasus 4.31- random email generated in queued mail

Hi,
This is driving me nuts :(  Yesteday evening I tried to close Pegasus, a dialog popped up and informed there was a queued message waiting to be sent. This was a bit of a surprise, as I hadn't sent any emails. I checked the queued mail and yes, there was a blanl email to a randomly generated email address, eg just a random sting of characted in the to field in the folder window. I deleted  this, tried to close the program, and the dialog reappeared. There was another ' emal' in the queued mail, same format. Each time I delete it, another one reappears. If I view the raw message, it is completely blank. I have AVG Professional 7.1 (up to date) and Ad-Aware Professional on the system (Windows XP) and neither of them anthing suspicious. Any ideas of how to cure this would be very welcome.
Cheers

Strange behaviour for Pegasus.  How is Pegasus being fed its' mail?  Is it from a POP3 mail server?  By the sound of your question, you are not seeing any incoming mail that gives rise to any suspicions in your mind that a Read Receipt is being activated for a series of duff incoming messages.

Other than that, I can only think that it has to be mailbox corruption in Pegasus.

It is from a POP3 server. I suspect it could be mailbox corruption, possibly initially  caused by me tryng to forward spam to bluefrog. OK, so any ideas how I can uncorrupt the mail box?

P.S. The 'duff' mail appears when I haven't downloaded any mail. Is there anyway to turn off sending read receipts in Pegasus?

There's some suggestions in the following link which I have found useful in troubleshooting corruption problems:-

Thanks. At the moment the problem seems to have disappeared. Thanks for the link, I hadn't found that page when I looked on the site
