Change Servername on Standalone 2003 DC

Hi all,
I have a single server domain - new Server, new domain. I upgraded the server, and as the AD was not in a good way in the old domain, setup a new domain, with a different server name to the old one. Now the problem is, they had some proprietry software running on the old server, that has the old server name hard coded. Am I able to simply change the name of the new server (2003) or do I need to "prepare" it first by various means.

Appreciate your help

Hi zimboman,

2003 allows you to rename your DC, thats all simple and easy, however recreate your DNS host record once completed

Cheers!
