Steganos Antispyware and Webroot Spysweeper

I have always used Webroot spysweeper, but the other day my friend downloaded Steganos Antispyware trial. It looked and felt exactly like spysweeper. I checked the install folder and it had most of the SpySweeper icons except for a few steganos icons.

Is Steganos the same thing as spysweeper? (same company, just changed name or renamed)
Did Steganos buy out Webroots product?

What exactly is the story behind this?

Please list your sources...

I highly doubt Steganos is a hacked version of spysweeper, because they would be in big trouble fast.

    Greetings, sof_combat !

You are very perceptive.  Seganos is a licensed version of Spysweeper, but of Spysweeper 3.5, not 4.0 which cam out this month.  But Seganos created their own database, so that when run side by side, you get different results.  Unfortunately, Spysweeper won every time.   But Seganos is still a very good antispyware program.

    Best wishes!
