Hi all

I was on holiday and have accidentally gone and deleted my photos off the RS-MMC card in my nokia phone.

I have not touched the phone since and need the best software for the job.

This is a one-time effort so I need to get it right first time. Please suggest a software and convince me it is the one for the job.

Hi,

This utility, and the others on this site, free, are the best I've ever found for recovery from all types of media due to my errors as well as those caused by my gear:

Another quick point to add, I had videos in 3gp format as well that got deleted.

Please be sure to suggest something that restores these too.

When I needed a program to do this I ended up purchasing PhotoRescue

http://www.datarescue.com/photorescue/

Mainly because it allows you to download a demo that will show you what will be recovered before you buy.  Why not d/l a copy and see if it'll work for you?

I don't know if it'll help with 3gp files, but you can look and see...

I use GetDataBack, by runtime.org.
http://runtime.org

The nice thing about them is their software is free to dowload, and it will scan your media, and show you what you will be able to recover.
If you've only got a few photos to recover, you can recover them by opening them, and saving them to a known good location.
If you need more than that, I would recommend purchasing the software, so you can do a group copy and save. (Without purchasing, this option is disabled, so you have to go individually.)
Either way, it will not write to your media (so your media isn't overwritten) and you can see what it will be able to recover, without having to purchase up front.

Hope this helps!

The program I linked to allows you to add any format you want, including video, to the list of recoverable files.  The FAQ at the website completely explains the process.  And it's FREE.

Just a second for GetDataBack as mentioned by Bartender_1.  It works as advertised for recovering just a few files (or anyone who values money more than time - alot of files) free.  We've used GetDataBackNTFS at work very sucessfully (purchased).

I was impressed enough with their sofware, I bought the package.
(GDB for NTFS and FAT, Disk Explorer for both, and RAID Recovery.)

I think we were all assuming he would acutally remove the MMC card from his phone and perform the recovery in a computer.

If that's not what he's looking for he'll have to let us know that.

Hi there

Just to update everyone:

I have managed to recover the pictures using the software provided in the first couple of posts. This is a big boost as they were more important then the videos.

I have not been able to recover the videos because although the programs I am using seem to find the 3gp files, they are corrupt as they are not executing successfully on the programs that I am using.

Can someone please suggest a solution to this problem ?

I am going to give it till the end of the week and then assume that the videos are gone forever and allocate the points based on the pictures recovered.

Many thanks
