With a 26 bit subnet mask (, the network range is -  If you are adding a route to, the gateway address must reside on the same network as the host, and is on a different network.  That's why you can't add the route.

I'm unsure what you mean by this.  You should talk to whoever is managing your routers to find out this information.

    Dear kfullarton

One more question, if I add one more network card to my server & configure like this

    card 1: IP subnetmask gateway

card 2: IP subnet mask gateway

Do u think I can add a route like this?

    route add -host

    Thanks for your advise.

    >Is it possible for me to set the default gateway to be in my case?

No.  Not as long as your IP is in the network

    >Do u think I can add a route like this?
    >route add -host

Sure, You should be able to add that route.  Just remember that the host must know how to get back to you either through it's gateway or through a similar configuration using a static route.
