ORA-00942 during export

I am doing the export using parfile.following is the content of parfile.
rows=y

indexes=y

grants=y

statistics=compute

full=n

# owner=gk0cp1

tables=(gk0cp1.tas)

direct=y

constraints=y

consistent=y

compress=y


When I run the script I get the error
About to export specified tables via Direct Path ...

EXP-00056: ORACLE error 942 encountered

ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

EXP-00000: Export terminated unsuccessfully


But when I change the parameter direct=y to direct=n then  it works.
Can someone tell me why this is happeneing.

What I need to do to make sure that script works with direct=y
