CFHTTP get, does it start new sessions?

i use mals ecommerce (a remote shopping cart) linking with this http://ww4.aitsafe.com/cf/review.cfm?userid=555555" it displays the content,

i have tried this within coldfusion so I don’t have to go off to the site ie diplay the shopping cart contents on the site…

<CFHTTP URL="http://ww4.aitsafe.com/cf/review.cfm?userid=555555" METHOD="get" />
<cfoutput>#cfhttp.filecontent#</cfoutput>

problem is when i use the cfhttp it states the cart is empty, could it be cfhttp is starting a new session or something.

many thanks

yes it happens.

When you type the url in browser it saves the sessions in your local computers browser and when you use cfhttp it uses the ColdFusion Server as browser and saves the session there so it is totally two different browser and idependent of each other and display different content.

If you want to maintain session, have a look at cfx_http5 from http://www.adiabata.com/Docs/Products.cfm it's $40 but it is excellent and very easy to use. There's a 30 day trial.
