Exchange Routing Issues

I am having a problem since I shutdown my old E-mail server. When I send mail now I can send e-mail to Hotmail and other external sources but not to Optimum, AOL or some other external domains? Kind of a wierd issue but I want to know how to resolve this.

Your DNS is not configured correctly.
The remote site is bouncing your message because that IP address doesn't have a reverse DNS. Get on the phone to your ISP and ask them to set it for you. If they tell you to speak to your domain name registrar then ask to speak to someone who knows how the internet works.

could you paste the ndr that you are getting, here

The problem is could be caused by you not having a reverse DNS entry set up.

As a temporary fix create a new SMTP connector that sends email to problem domains via you ISPs SMTP server.

Let me know if you need a hand doing this.

To check what problems you may have with DNS go to and see what errors/problems it highlights.

Hope this helps
