After years of working perfectly (well, for a Microsoft product anyway), Access XP has decided to bomb out on me. When I use the combo box wizard, I can get to the point where I'm adding the fields, and then I'll get the message "Automation Error - Specific Procedure cannot be found". Any suggestions?

Sounds like either a corrupted DB or a corrupted install.

I would suggest importing everything to a new database and then do a compact/repair. If that doesn't work then de-install the whole office suite, do a regclean, then reinstall.

This is happening on ALL my databases ... so I should (shudder) import them all?

I've never done a regclean ... can you advise?

Then it sounds like it is your office install has corrupted.

Just do a complete de-install of the whole office suite.

Then google for "regclean" -- you should come up with a couple hundred hits.  Download it and run it on you machine.

Then do a complete re-install of the Office Suite.
