Xerox 8825 plotter not printing
I'm new to AutoCAD and am trying to setup a Xerox 8825 plotter for AutoCAD LT 2006. What is the proper procedure for setting up a plotter on a new Windows XP SP2 system?

Thank you for the steps. I used the Plotter Manager to install the 8825 without a problem but it still won't print. AutoCAD says the print job plotted without error and whether I use the HID driver or the Windows driver nothing actually plots, the jobs always eventually fail. We are sending the plots to a network attached XES machine that I guess it supposed to recieve the job and run with it but I'm not getting any indication that it's even receiving the job. Every one else in the office plots without a problem and the settings on their systems are the same as the this new computer that isn't plotting. Do you suppose I'm missing a piece of software somewhere. I saw on some of the computers an Axess toolbox that the new one does not have but I didn't give it much weight as it didn't appear to have anything to do with plotter drivers.

And everything else network wise is working properly, like access to files on a server from this computer ect? everything is plugged as it should? (sounds dumb, but had to be asked :oP)

Yes. The PC is able to access shared resources from servers, Exchange, and use use other printers.
Then going to the Windows "Printer and Faxes" panel, and looking at the properties for the Xerox 8825:
Tab "Sharing": The plotter is shared
Tab "Port": The plotter is under the same port as in the computers that work
Tab "Security": This computer/user is 'Allowed' to print and/or manage document/printer on this device

So, nothing of interest?
I saw it talked about plotting issue with an axess box, how this xerox plotter 'emulator' is working ect. Its mostly alien to me, but maybe reviewing it, YOU would understand something and find an answer to your problem there.
Good luck :o)

Actually, there was one discrepancy between that submission, and what I did. I am going to go try this now.

That link you sent did the trick. I was using the default port of 9100 instead of port 2000. We're plotting away again.
Thanks.
Thanks.
weheeee, glad it worked out :o)
Thank you for the grade

Double click on Add a Plotter Wizard.
1st window(begin): Select if the plotter is on a network or on a single computer (here ill assume it will be on a network, so option Network Plotter Server is selected)
2nd window(Network Plotter): If you know the path on your network, enter it there, if not, you need to find it using the browse button.
3rd window(Plotter Model): Select your plotter in the proposed list ( i saw that Xerox 8825 is there)
4th window (Import Pcp or Pc2): if you have plotting setup files from your previous Autocad version, you can recuperate and reuse for 2006 to save redoing it all. Should be located at C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Applic
5th window(Plotter Name): Keep the name proposed or enter a new one
6th window (Finish): You can edit the plotter default config there(for default sheet size and pen settings ect).
Now a plotter will appeir in your Autocad plot dialog window under the name you entered at step 5.
