WSUS

A previous network admin approved almost every single update available in WSUS. It created around 60GB of updates stored on the local server. The next technician removed WSUS as well as all content so he could start over with only the needed updates as disk space was getting low. He reinstalled WSUS and now updates are not downloading. Updates just hang at 0MB out of how ever many. Any ideas as to why this is not working now? Updates downloaded just fine before.

Uninstall WSUS completely, reboot delete the directories that stored the files and the wsus database. Reinstall. It's not the best solution, but it is the fastest. I discovered this myself several months ago during testing a wsus deployment, long story. The key is to delete/renam the folder with the sql database and the downloaded files.

Does anyone know an alternative download for the WSUS Server Debug Tool? The Microsoft link seems to not want to download. I tried it today and yesterday from several different computers at several different buildings across town.

Sunilcomputer, your answer helped me out, but I found out that it was a setting on my hardware Sonicwall firewall. Thanks.
