Archiving Reoccuring Calendar Items

If I have an autoarchive setting on my Outlook Calendar to delete items older than 6 months.  If I created a monthly reoccuring calendar event 1 year ago, will it be smart enough to only delete the individual events in the series that are 6 months and older and not permanently delete the entire series?
