GroupWise Error: An error occurred Modifying an Attribute value.
Hello:
Hello I am new to Novell and GroupWise. I have been working on this setup for 3 months and I have been able to add user just fine for 3 months. We have Novell v. 5.1 and GroupWise v. 6.5.
When I try to add a user to our Novell Network 5.1 network and an accompanying e-mail to our GroupWise v. 6.5. We use ConsoleOne v 1.3.6 . I can add the network user just fine the problem is on the GroupWise end.
After I enter the new password for the new user, I then go the GroupWise 'Tab'. I select the Post Office 'browse icon. The select the appropriate option. When I am back to the 'GroupWise' tab, I then click on the 'Apply' button below and then get an error message "GroupWise Error: An error occurred Modifying an Attribute value. Record Already Exists (c004).
This is for any new employee I try to add. Again the network side activates just fine and I can logon to the Network domain with the new user account; but I have problems on the GroupWise side.
Please help.

"Novell" is a company. It makes a number of products, including "NetWare" and "GroupWise". You have "NetWare v5.1: - there's no such thing as "Novell v5.1".

What client are you using? Novell Client 32, or the brain-dead and deliberately-crippled M$ Client for NetWare Networks?

Novell Netware 5.1 and I am using Novell Client for Windows V. 4.9. I hope that helps.
When you add a new user, are you using a Template?
ASKER
Yes,
Its called New_User.

Again the problem is when I am trying to add a user to our GroupWise Post Office object.
Hmmm..... does the Template add the new account to the GroupWise PO?

I can tell you that i I go to ConsoleOne and pull up a user that was created succcessfully, (like my account) I can change my GroupWise password. Additionally, for the user that I cannot adda Groupwise account for, every time I go back to the GroupWise tab, teh Post Office entry is always blank. I try to use the post office entry that we use; but it will not stick; becasue I have to cancel out of the changes I tried to make in GroupWise.
My manager ges the same error when he tries to add a user.
