asked on

linux print que with cups?

is it possible to capture something about to print to a file with cups?

then i could write a script to send this file to a different location and print it there automated?

im attempting to print from two different locations without a need for VPN as its one printer dot-matrix hooked to a linux fedora core 5 pc and at the other end....

printing via dos program in windows.

hopefully this makes sense.

WINDOWS --> DOS --> PRINT FROM HERE ===> TO LINUX PC ON ANOTHER INTERNET LOCATION --> PRINT TO DOT MATRIX

The variety of Linux distributions creates myriad issues relating to configuration and operations when computers are networked, not the least of which is the use of various network management applications, some of which are included with specific distributions, while others are standalone applications.
