how to write config.sys file to a boot floppy to load a driver for SATA hard drive?

    Generally, to load a driver you would add the following line to config.sys:


    Just be sure that the driver is compatible with the OS version you will be booting from on the floppy.

    You should have a dos driver for your SATA controller, if not download it from the manufacturers website.  Copy this file (probably a SYS file) onto your floppy disk and add a line to load the device as indicated by likwidstate as above.  If you are getting out of memory errors try loading the himem.sys driver first, then append the line above to DEVICEHIGH = <path to driver file>
