Stored usernames and passwords in AD using control panel on Windows 2003 server

I would like to know where the file is that stores the usrenames and passwords when you have the option selected on the user in the account tab of AD users and computers.  I have also set the GPO for the OU containing the users to allow for the passwords to be saved.  I have some applications that needs some of the users passwords and cannot locate the file.
