How do I add users from one domain to another through a trust

I am creating a brand new domain for my company - so I have created the new domain and trusted it to my old domain while I migrate. Yes two completely separate forests - as in a ccouple months the old domain will be completey decommed. The trust works fine, but for an example, how do I add the domain adminsfrom domain#1 to the domain admin groups of domain#2. I have tried to add the way domain#1\domain admins to domain#2\domain admins, but it does not work. How does this get accomplished?

first, you need to make sure you have a forest trust, not just a domain trust. This is done from the forest root domains like a domain trust, but choose forest trust.

I agree with the enterprise admins, then you can do what is necessary.

Good Luck,

Where is the snap-in for forest trusts? I cant seem to find it.
I try to add domain admins to the entterprise admins on the new domain, but when I choose locations, there is only my new domain listed, i cant accesss the old domain. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thank you!
Ok it is a forest trust - I made sure of that - however, I am still having trouble adding the domain admins of one domain to the enterprise admins of another. WHen i go to the group and members and add another member, the only location is the current location, i dont see the other domain. Any thoughts?

Thanks!
When I go to the ADC on the new domain - to the bultin>Administrators account, I add and under locations, I see my old domain forest. I choose it and type domain admins and come up with an error saying it cant find the user. I see the old forest, but it cant find the user. Any help would be greatly apprecited.

Thanks!
