updateting syscomments table

I want to update ctext value in syscomments table of a sysobject from one server to another. This is a ctext value for an sp that exists on both servers.Does anyone know if it is harmfull?

Its not harmful, but not recommended,
bY default sql server wont allow the user to do this . You shhold do this as

SP_CONFIGURE 'ALLOW UPDATES', 1  
RECONFIGURE WITH OVERRIDE


After modifying  the stored procedure, please perform the following SQL statements for safe reason.


SP_CONFIGURE 'ALLOW UPDATES', 0  
RECONFIGURE WITH OVERRIDE

use the proper create/alter procedure / function commands instead...

its a VERY BAD IDEA to attempt to directly MODIFY a System Table!
