Launching Command Prompt to Specific Directory

I want to create a directory called MyDir on the root C:\ Drive, therefore the path being C:\MyDir.  I also want to set up a link to the command prompt that automatically launches the command prompt to the directory C:\MyDir.  How do I do this?

Make a copy of your Command Prompt shortcut:

Right-click on the copy, go to Properties
and edit the Target: value so it appears like this:
%SystemRoot%\system32\cmd.exe /K "cd\MyDir"

For further information at the command prompt type: cmd /?
This will provide other options available to you.

That should do it.
