1 Solution

Here is the explanation from IBM doc

Decoupled:  There are no agents currently associated with the application. This is a normal state. When the Connection Concentrator is enabled, there is no dedicated coordinator agent, so an application can be decoupled on the coordinator partition. In non-concentrator environments, an application cannot be decoupled on the coordinator partition as there will always be a dedicated coordinator agent .
decoupled means that the agent was stolen by another application, which is the preferred behaviour, whereas as in the past, stolen agents was to be avoided.
By stealing agents, there is less overhead for the instance manager as less agents need to be created. In addition, stolen agents were previously idle, so they may as well be reused by another application that needs them. By behaving this way, less agents need to be defined, therefore, you can use less memory.
You can still tune the number of agents per partition, but by itself, decoupled isnt anything to worry about.

How could an application that is decoupled hold locks and cause a lock wait status when its is not really Executing .
thats a very good question, and the answer is that the lock wait status is occuring on a node where the agent is not decoupled.
Remember, list applications only shows the agents on the node to which you are on, which by default is node 0.
If you want to see all applications on all nodes, do list applications global.
