Can I Speed up NTBackup?

Is there any way to speed up my backup??  I am backing up to a Iomega REV drive via a share on the network..

I start the backup running at 6pm and it finishes at 8am the next day.. seems very long for only about 20Gigs in total to me.

seems that the "first storage group" backup is taking over 7 hours to backup itself.

I was having problems with the backup not working at all, then i installed Service Pack 1 for the Windows Server® 2003 operating system, Windows SharePoint® Services 2.0 Service Pack 1, Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 1, Windows XP SP2 for Client Deployment & Windows Small Business Server 2003 SP1.

The backup now works but it is very slow.. is this normal to run nearly 12hours??

Heres the log  to shed some light:-

Hi micromc,

you can always turn off verification on the job - this will speed it up quite a bit

how can i do that?  at the moment i use the backup wizard that comes with SBS2003, where are the optiong that i can change.

The wizard doesn't show advanced mode..
go into the properties of the job and they are in there
