Setting up a Virtual Directory

I'm trying to figure out how to setup a virtual directory for our intranet in IIS 6.

I need it to be something like this... http://intranet.websitename.com/

Any  help would be much appreciated. Thx.

where is are your webpages located, on the webserver?

create a website, point to where your webpages are installed, then click IP address advanced button and assign the website a host header name to be intranet.websitename.com

in DNS create a CNAME record, pointing 'intranet' to your webservername
