Initialization of MAPI Failed
OK here goes.
I am trying to add a Send Email Task to a DTS procedure, however I am getting an 'Initialization of MAPI Failed' error when I try to execute this task.
When I check the SQL Server settings it shows SQL mail as the SQL mail, when I click the test button it says successfully started (and stopped) a MAPI session with this profile. Likewise if I go to Support Services and SQL Mail I get the same thing. if I look at SQL Server Agent however the Mail Profile is greyed out and nothing is selected.
If I then go to a client machine connect remotely to the same SQL server open up the DTS and execute the task it runs successfully and sends the email, why is it working on a client machine but not the server itself?
I have outlook 2003 installed on the server but there is no account associated with it and the server is running on Exchange. ANY ideas on this?
Many thanks
