Deleting Computers from Container in AD

I have a few computers in our computers container that I want to delete. If the computer exists I expect the user to call the helpdesk complaining they can't login. Then I can find where these rouge devices are at.
I recently did some testing to verify my idea and deleted a test machine from the computers container. The test machine was still able to log onto the domain. Why is that? And how can I do this so these computers are unable to log in.
No, im not touching user accounts!

    Assisted Solution

How long did you wait before checking that the computer can still log in?  First I would force replication, then check for DNS problems if you are still having problems.

My guess is that the computer is using cached credentials to login.

Right, if you delete the computer object the user should not be able to log into the domain unless they have the right to add computers to the domain.
