1280x720 or higher resolution display is fully ready for HD video.
I recommend wide screens as you can watch dvd and web pages without scrolling horizontally.

I have a Dell Ultrasharp 19FP and could not be more pleased.  The larger models look awesome as well.

The Evil-ution of Network Security Threats

What are the hacks that forever changed the security industry? To answer that question, we created an exciting new eBook that takes you on a trip through hacking history. It explores the top hacks from the 80s to 2010s, why they mattered, and how the security industry responded.

If you're not looking at gaming, which has demanding response times, I've been *very* happy with my Planar 2010M.  Colors are brilliant, especially on a digital cable connection, and if you have to rely on RGB cables, the monitor has a pre-processor built in that will try to help sharpen up the image.  It doesn't have the 8ms response time (it's 16ms gray-to-gray), but even with games I don't get much color-bleed until the frame-rate goes through the roof.  I had only one dead pixel, near a corner (which if you read about monitors is really good, given a 1600x1200 native resolution):

When I got it, I had to tweak the settings a bit--out-of-the-box, the monitor gave me headaches.  But I e-mailed Planar and they gladly walked me through different things to try.  It had to do with the screen being so unusually bright.  I highly recommend using a digital connection--it makes a *big* difference.

Whatever you choose, let us know what you pick!

Great!

You're welcome Johan - I hope you enjoy it.  And remember, if it seems to tire your eyes out, just tweak the settings a bit, and don't be afraid to ask Planar for help. ;)

Thanks!
