Question about Date Time Picker Control

What property or code can I use to stop the date time picker control from defaulting to current date.  If no date is selected, I would rather the value be null or blank, not a date.  Could you provide me with a code sample.

Could you tell me a little more.  I see the property "Checked"  which is set to true.  My application shows the current date regardless of the value of that property.
Also, I'm using VS 2003 in case your comment is based on 2005.  I have no property showing in property window called "cHECKED bOX"
wHAT i AM TRYING TO DO IS HAVE THE CONTROL SHOW NO DATE UNTIL ONE IS SELECTED  cAN YOU ELABORATE ON YOUR ANSWER?
