multiple images store

Hello is het possible to loop through a directory and save all the images to the mySql database?
I know it's not possible from client to server without a zip file, but i want to use it local only!

    yeah well .. u can write a script which will pick up a directory with something like..

       if ($dh = opendir($dir)) {
            while (($file = readdir($dh)) !== false) {
                echo "filename: $file : filetype: " . filetype($dir . $file) . "\n";
                //// save to db with query
