Outlook 2002 freezes windows 98 when trying to read the email
Good afternoon,
I have a user that is using windows 98 on a p3/1000mhz system, office xp and logging into windows through novell (roaming profiles). Also ulitizing McAfee 8.0.
When user opens up outlook to review emails (any emails), outlook comes back with a white box stated that outlook has given an exception and do you want to ignore or close the applicatation to save your files and then the whole system freezes and you can only reboot the system to get back into the system.
To try fixing this issue, I used the previous install cleanup of the application from microsoft, reinstalled the software, did all the updates for windows and office xp and the error is still comes back. Since we are using roaming profiles I even removed their profile on the system and had them login. Also, did a clean out of history and internet temp file folder. Could any can push me in the right direction on how to solve this issue. I have been getting the box from a few people now.
I would appreicate it.
Thank you,
Michele

I used to get a similar error if i installed software like winfax on the same pc. The solution was to remove office completely and then do a reinstall again to a different path. Do not use the default path. Try war1's suggestions first as mine is in context with a different app causing the issue, which may not be applicable to you.
