Mouse freezes

Dear fellows, I'm having a problem. I have a HP wireless mouse and it used to work just fine...but, lately is showing a problem: it randomly freezes, I can't move the pointer nor click icons. I reset the computer and it works again...but again, randomly freezes. I have thought about what problem might that be, but I don't find it logical. Could you help me by letting me know what the problrm might be? and solutions for that please.

Peace to all,

Hi Freebuddy

What were your initial thoughts?

What is the model number of your HP Wireless Mouse?

I have seen intermittent mouse problems being caused by the graphics card driver.  I know it sounds illogical at first, but you have to remember that the graphics display is what is causing the cursor to display where it should be. It might be that something has become corrupt or misconfigured with the graphics display, in which case reinstalling the graphics driver MIGHT help.

BUT FIRST, seeing as it is a wireless mouse, I suggest that you try and eliminate a few things.

1. Reinstall the drivers for the mouse hardware.
2. Replace all batteries required by mouse and receiver unit.
3. Interference from external sources?  Any other wireless devices nearby like networking devices?
