Cannot Empty the Clipboard Error in Excel 2003
Hi,
One of our users who does alot of work in excel keeps having this reoccuring issue where the office clipboard starts playing up and he can no longer copy/paste from or to the clipboard. It generally begins when he is using excel, but once the error message "Cannot empty the clipboard" appears all other application are affected as well. When we check the Office Clipboard, it is clear there is nothing in it.
He is using Excel 2003 which is installed on a remote machine running on Windows XP Pro with service pack 2. His own machine which he uses to connect to the remote machine (via Windows Remote desktop) is also running on XP Pro. Both are constantly kept up-to-date, and there does not seems to be any other issues with either machines other than the one outlined above. He uses remote desktop to connect to the remote pc.
To resolve the situation he needs to reboot the remote machine, but this only solves the issue temporarily.
There are are a few articles out there which have indicated that programs such as Getright or Flashget can cause these kinds of problems, but niether of these programs are installed on either of the 2 pcs.
I have not been able to find any useful information regarding these error, so hopefully someone out there can help me.
Thanks in advance,
Lev

There was a third party addon (DigDB) installed. The funny thing is that this was the only addon we didn't disable. All of the default addins that came with Office have been disabled and we haven't seen the probem since.
It seems like there was some kind of conflict between DigDB and one of the default addins.
