View PDF files in VB6 app without having Save option

Hi

I would like users to be able to view PDF files in a VB6 app without being given access to the save/save as dialog box - just navigate and zoom in/out.

Any ideas?

Hi

I just replied to your other post re: Word, and I think the same method works here, i.e. add a web control to your form and then navigate to it....

webcontrol1.Navigate2 "C:\Test.pdf"

HTH :)

This method certainly allows a user to view a pdf but it doesn't prevent the user opening the file/open dialog box so it doesn't solve my problem.

In the Navigate2 event if you enter the following code

            wbDocument.ExecWB(SHDocVw.OLECMDID.OLECMDID_HIDETOOLBARS, SHDocVw.OLECMDEXECOPT.OLECMDEXECOPT_PROMPTUSER)
            wbDocument.ExecWB(SHDocVw.OLECMDID.OLECMDID_HIDETOOLBARS, SHDocVw.OLECMDEXECOPT.OLECMDEXECOPT_PROMPTUSER)

(yes it is two lines exacly the same) then this should hide all the toolbars

I believe I gave the correct answer, in fact it was the same advice I gave here http://www.experts-exchange.com/Programming/Programming_Languages/Dot_Net/VB_DOT_NET/Q_21875691.html and this was accepted with a Grade A
