Thunderbird/Enigmail: how to search encrypted messages

I'm using Thunderbird with Enigmail to work with encrypted messages. Everything is
fine except I can't use Thunderbird's search.

For instance, I know that an e-mail body contains the string '3828', but if I search the
folder for any e-mail that contains '3828' in its body Thunderbird does not find it,
since the e-mail is encrypted.

Is there a way to make it work?

PS. Yes, I've made the search just after decrypting the e-mail, so Thunderbird
has my passphrase for at least 5 minutes.

From the enigmail team, "The lack of search ability is really an aspect of the encryption protection rather than a bug."  You can't search through it.

Many users of enigmail have requested saving encrypted emails decrypted http://mozilla-enigmail.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=34 which would then allow the Search so that might be an option in a future release.

Sorry, not at this time.
