asked on

unable to find e-mail address in exchange

I am trying to add a SMTP address for a contact FWD but when i add the address I get an error message saying that the address already exists in the system.  I have had no luck finding this address to know where to delete it.  I have used the filters, the search and of course looked at people’s mail boxes.  Any ideas?

Thanks

If you want to check which objects email address is this, then please open outlook and then type that email address in To field of new message .Press Control K it will give you the resolved name of that object and  you can easily found that object in AD.

That does not resolve to any name in our system.  If its in use anywhere it would be as an SMTP address only.

Kris.  Do i use the first of the 3 scripts?  Do i run this on any machine on the network or is it run on the exchange box?

it's actually 1 script, not 3. just copy all (main body and two sub processes). It does not have to be run from the exchange server, you can run it from your workstation if you are a domain admin.

I ran the script and it came back and told me that it is assigned to a public folder in a public path.  Well we do not have a public folder at the name that was given.  Any suggestions?

Sorry for the confusion but was able to find the public folder.  It was in an odd area not common to our public folder placements.
