SmartFTP download file structure...or should I use IE FTP?

I am trying to download a rather large structure from my server to my
desktop but SmartFTP is only downloading the first folder, and it doesn't
allow me to select more folders.  I am concerned that if I do it folder by
folder I will mess up the structure.  Is there a way to download the entire
structure?  Or, I am unfamiliar with IE, but is it better at doing that?

It seems a proper FTP program works much better for this than Internet Explorer. There are many of them out there for free, trial versions or paid versions and no two people will agree as to which is best. I like WS_FTP available from:
    Also the free version WS_FTPLite

YEs... you are right smart ftp is not allow to download a large amount of folder.

Yes you can use the IE ftp service for it just select all folder and copy paste to your system but i think this very slow and not better like a ftp client software. Mr. Robwill already tell you about ws_ftp client software which is allow this facility.

    The another one is
    1. You can use telnet also for it if your server allowed telnet its fast then the othet GUI tools.
    try this may be help

I had a similar problem (18,000 folders) using SmartFTP. I just zipped all the folders into one zip file and then used SmartFTP to transfer it. This worked very well for me.
