Mail configuration Outlook Express vs Outlook

My internet provider says that I can only use Outlook express and outlook cannot be used.  This doesn't make any sense to me.  Is there some difference on the mail configeration between the two applications?  I would think that if OE could be configured, then Outlook could as well.

it doesnt make sense.  most likely your ISP is using POP3 access... and both outlook and express are able to retreive mail using POP3

i have encountered so many idiots for tech support at ISPs.  i would try outlook.

I was thinking that the set up page for outlook was different than OE?
