Drop-down listbox of FM accounts.

I am creating a FM database that will make the use of accounts, but I don't want to use FileMaker's factory logon windows.  Instead I would like to use layout logged in as guest and have a dropdown list of all the accounts and a password with bullets masking the password and have my database go from there depending on what user logged in.  I'm new to FM.

if you are new, that may not be the easiest to do.
this idea is to logon automatically as guest.
then you should have a table with users, all matching fmaker accounts.
at startup, users can click there name in a dedicated layout, enter passwd, then you reconnect them with a script and their new identity.
to have your users table to match the fm accounts, you must do a script which creates both new records in the users table and fm accounts at the same time.
I have done it before, but the advantage is not much compared to the regular way. In fact I used to do this with fm6 where accounts were only... passwords.

Thanks, now I understand.  Any clue how to mask the password feild?
not in a field in a layout; you can use white characters on a white background, but copy/paste can pinch it.
instead, use a button with triggers a script where you gonna use a custom dialog. in this function, you can mask the field data with stars, using the passwd type.
tell me if you need an example.
