Deleting installshield installation information

On my windows 2000 server Program files directory there is a sub-directory named "installshield installation information". Can I delete this directory or the files within it  I am looking for more space on the drive? What purpose is the Common Files sub directory in Program files? Trying to clean up.

"installshield installation information": Better leave them alone. Deleting the InstallShield directories could prevent you from being able to uninstall other programs that were installed with InstallShield.
You can try to clean up something with this tool: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/InstallShield-Installation-Information-Manager.shtml

Common Files folder contains application program related files that are, or can be, used by more than one application program. So rather than have each application install its own copy of these files the "Common files" folder is used so that only a single copy is needed and that copy can be used "in common" by all of the applications that need it. You can delete files from this folder if you are absolutely sure that none of applications use these files. So.. better leave them alone too.
