I dont work much with DTS packages but is there a way to be able to convert a DTS package into code or some readable format? Here is the scenario, say we have about 100 DTS packages and we want to know how many packages use a specific login or how many packages would be affected if  a change is made to a specific table. If i can convert the package to say VB code, for example or sql scripts which we can query, that would be awesome!

    Accepted Solution

Open the DTS package in the DTS Designer and choose 'Package' and 'Save As'.  Change the Location to 'Visual Basic File'.  Choose a file name and click on OK.  You'll end up with a Visual Basic file that you can easily read.
