HTTP Error 500 - Internal server error

Ok here is my problem

In Dreamweaver, I filled out the info on the small "MySQL connection" window, but when I test the connection I get the:

HTTP Error 500 - Internal server error

I have spoken with my hosting company, and they told me that I need to tell them on which page the error is happening; the problem is the error is not happening when I access the page, but when I try to connect to MySQL from Dreamweaver. BTW, my ODBC connection tests fine. I am not sure how to check or what to check to determine the exact error location.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

Your browser set to friendly error so please use the following :

IE>tools>internet option > advanced setting > then

Check your browser in the advanced settings, and turn of "show friednly error-messages". This will help you see more clearly where the error is located on your webpages. The 500-message isn`t saying anything, sadly enough.

Now you get exact error :

've had the same problem although I was using Access and ASP. For me things
were working great for months and then suddenly I could no longer connect to a
database within Dreamweaver. The following menu selection worked for me on 2
different XP computers:

Site - Advanced -  Remove Connection Scripts

I'm not sure exactly what it does but I could immediately connect after doing
this. Perhaps Dreamweaver recreates these scripts. I don't know if it will work
for your problem but its easy and worth a try. Good luck!

you mean you want to access MySQL on server directly from within dreamweaver on your client?
Does your hoster give you access to MySQL?

Hello,

Do you want access your mysql database through Dreamweaver? If you want access your mysql database then you can dowload Aqua data studilo software (it free). then you willl use your mysql database hostname or IP and dbusername and passowrd then you will connect your database directly. If you want connect your database through website then you would write connection string for your mysql database. then your website will connect mysql database through connnection string.
