Intermittent Issue Connecting to Metaframe PS4 Servers
Hey EE Citrix Gurus
I am having a very frustrating issue occuring in my environment. I have a Windows 2003 Server (running on VMWare CSG doesn't play weel with other web sites) in my DMZ. It's running The Citrix Secure Gateway Version 3.0 and the Web Interface V3.0. The STA is in on a W2K3 box on the Internal LAN. I have a PIX 515e as the FW. I am getting very intermittent issue where users that are connecting and running published applications and desktops will get the following error:
ERROR: The Citrix MetaFrame servers cannot process your request at this time. An error occurred while attempting to connect to the MetaFrame servers. Please make sure that the Citrix XML Service is running on the MetaFrame servers and listening on a valid port. If the Citrix XML Service is configured to share ports with the Internet Information Service (IIS), please make sure that the IIS WWW service is running.
If I reset the server the problem goes away for a random amount of time. Steps taken so far:
1). I followed the instructions in CTX104934 and contacted Microsoft to install the J#.net runtime hotfix outlined in Q819777, then rebooted the CSG server.
2). I followed Q238131 and disabled socket pooling on the IIS6 server running the CSG.
3). I have run the ALTADDR /SET command on each PS4 server to allow the public address to be accepted by the WI sessions.
4). I have one of my PS4.0 boxes that had a secondary GB NIC that I disabled.
Steps 3 & 4 were done an hour ago so I'll find out tommorow whether they made a difference or not. The issue is I get 20+ users logged in. User 21 hits the error and I have to knock off everyone to reset the service. This is being regarded as providing a less than stable environment. We have a new CAG which may be the solution if this isn't cleared up soon. However I'd like to figure this out and then do the CAG rollout on a planned not rushed schedule.
Any info and advice would be greatly appreciated.
