Site submission to search engines

Hi there

I created a flash site, at http://www.MyDomain.info/

The client is very happy with the site, but wanted a front page tagged with relevant HTML so that it would be referenced by search engines. This was done by a friend of the client, who based all assumptions on the name as 'Plume of Feathers' as opposed to 'The Plume of Feathers' - regardless, the site was appearing in the top 10 search results with various engines, based solely on that.

I asked that the tagging be adjusted to reference 'The Plume of Feathers' ('the' added) to enhance thd chances of a direct name search registering as a search result.

The comeback from the client's friend was as follows:

"I will resubmit. As described in an email some months ago, positioning requires constant monitoring (of other domains that are featuring better on the search). Then change tags, keywords and content to suit and resubmitting.  This should happen at least every 60 days.

Also, the Plume is handicapped because it is literally a 2 page site. A problem that besets 100% flash content sites."

How accurate is the above?  I have a feeling that I'm being led up the garden path, so to speak!

Thanks
Aidan

I am not so in favour of full flash sites as spiders cannot get through them, i would create a site from the flash page which is a html version of your site. links and all.

Fair enough. Unfortunately creating another HTML site is not an option.

I'm not looking for an active SEO programme to see the restaurant appear #1 on search engines for related searches - rather than based on its submission, that it'll at least appear on the first page of results.

Asking too much?

THe person is correct about the constant monitoring I have automatic ranking reports genrated weekly, if something is up I change some elements.

Have you considered Google AdWords to get into the paid search.

so if the restaurant is submitted as The Plume of Feathers', that initial submission isnt necessarily enough to maintain it's ranking on the first page of results for seaches for 'The Plume of Feathers Cornwall' for instance?

Having a look at Adwords now.

Thanks

How do 100% flash sites, like http://www.2advanced.com/
manage to rank so highly on searches?

Back links probably,

My guess is that they probably have a large amount of quality related links pointing bck to their site.

If you optimised the homepage for plume of feathers cornwall, it would automatically rank also for plume of feathers, i should guess.

in terms of the code that you can see on the home page, is that referenceable?  is that the format that's required - just needs updating to reference those tags that are relevant?>
