What do you point the SMTP part of Outlook Express to?
Remember that Microsoft's SMTP server will attempt to send email out on the same SMTP interface that it is received on. Therefore if you are pointing Outlook Express at your inbound email SMTP VS then Exchange will try to send it out on that same interface.

well
using OWA everything is working fine...

I have used front end server public ip to configure POP3 and SMTP in outlook express.
I also used relay to happen on port 25 in from fron end server.

From out look I can download the mail but I can not sent any mail.

any idea ????

You are pointing the Outlook Express users at the SMTP server on the frontend server?
If so, how are you controlling relay? Via authentication? Remember that you have to specifically set authentication for the outbound SMTP server in Outlook Express.

I have enabled POP3 and SMTP on my Front-End server.

In outlook express I am using same Public IP for POP3 and SMTP ( my front end server which is in DMZ).

I am able to receive the mails using POP3 but while sending mails I get the error Relay denied for receipient "sss@abc.com" etc...

I have Backend server running on cluster.  2 exchange servers are running as SMTP IN & Out. All these servers are in Inside Zone

I have one Antispam Server ( MX record is pointed to this server ) which receives internet mails. My Front-end server is alos in DMZ.

I have opened required ports.

Still I am unable to send the mails outside....

When you send the emails from Outlook Express, are you authenticating to the server? You have to specifically set that option in OE, it doesn't set it for you.

Yes , you are correct my authentication was not checked also there was problem in Checkpoint firewall . SMTP out to internet was not open with port 25,110. Now it is working fine thanks for your input simon .

Sorry for delayed response.
