Tablet PC's

Are Tablet PC's stable or are they still unreliable.  Is the HP Tablet 4200 worth the $ or buy the regular nc4200?  Please justify why...

I have no experience with the HP Tablet 4200 to justify the expense, but I have visited several private school systems that have implemented tablets for students and they have had an overall great experience. The last school I visited had 40 students using tablets and apprx. 200 using laptops (the school was testing tablets). After one year, they had roughly the same percentage of repair issues with laptops as tablets (6%), which is very low considering students were using them.

We will begin testing with a few individuals (including myself) in the next month or so. But, I feel confident that they will be reliable based on my analysis.

I have used both tables and laptops. My suggestion is to get a tablet. The computers the same when it comes to reliablity but the tablet is easier to use once you get used to it. Plus it's easier to carry. The only problem you can get on a tablet is that the screen might get some scratches but there are some screen protectors you can buy for a few bucks.

I use a Toshiba tablet and agree with bnedelcov, get a tablet.

The nice thing is that you can use the tablet part if needed, otherwise it is just like a standard laptop.

Worth is a relative term.  If you think that the tablet offering are omething you can use then it is worth someting to you.

I justified it because I do a lot of photography, and it is a lot nicer editing pictures with the pen, than with a mouse...
