Knowledgebase Software

Hello!

By any chance does anyone here recognize the knowledgebase software being used on this site??
collectivesoftware.com/Support/KB/

Supposedly it uses KnowledgebasePublisher [http://kbpublisher.sourceforge.net/] but I really don't think it does because their are not many similarities. I'm guessing that they were using KBPublisher, but then maybe changed to something else (or maybe even their own software).

I'd appreciate your opinions...

It looks the same to me, but with a different theme( they might call it a skin).

The page you gave http://kbpublisher.sourceforge.net/ has a list of live sites, and I looked at those and they are all similar in operation...

I don't think so... I'm not really seeing the similarities...

KBPublisher sites all have this directory structure in common
./admin/lib/Pear/PHP/Compat/.....
./client/default/template/....

Ive looked at the admin section and seems like its there own written software. KnowledgebasePublisher is great, easy install and highly customize via html templates that I find great.

Yes, I had a feeling it might be in-house software. They probably used KbPublisher and then decided to write their own...

I agree with you, KbPublisher is very nice, and it was the best I found on the internet so far. There are just a few issues I have with it. For example, it was difficult (or rather time-consuming) to make the templates parse php code. Another issue I have is with the mark-up - it's not strictly standards compliant...

I'm thinking of developing my own, but I'd rather not as I don't have a lot of time...

With kbpublisher I know works best with php5 and mysql4 that not a lot of hosts support.

AutoKB looks quite good actually. First impression is very good.
However, I cannot find the license agreement... Did I miss it??

Ok, although I started on my own KB, I've taken your recommendation for KbPublisher into consideration again, and have decided to stick with it. I've changed the style a little and I've modified all the source code to make it validate against strict XHTML 1.1. Seems to have worked out ok.

Here is the link to it in case you're interested in taking a look:

I think they are using 'PHPKB Knowledge Base Software' from http://www.knowledgebase-script.com
