I work for a company as help desk support and I'm trying to learn all I can about their operation. The CTO of the company referred to one of their servers as Com server? What is that? Is that a server that stores IP address'?

    Com servers,

Most likely refering to Communications server, i.e. it's running mail, and other groupware software that the business uses to communicate. Possibley running faxserver software and such.

I spoke with my boss and he explained that it is not a communications server. COM actually stands for something, I forget what he said it means, because he said it so fast. It's used for business logic for cold fusion, visual foxpro, and sql server.
