It is part of the Monitoring and Reporting,  in change alert notifications you can find it as an option:  email notification for a failed backup.

Changing the email address in the Monitoring and Reporting section will change it for all alerts.  It also won't provide a message if the backup succeeds, only if it fails.

To have an email go to a specific address for either success or failure, you need to configure a few things in the Health Monitor.

1. Create a new Email action with the person's address:
Administrative Tools > Health Monitor > All Monitored Computers > <Servername> > Actions > New Email Action

2. Create a new Alert:
Administrative Tools > Health Monitor > All Monitored Computers > <Servername> > Small Business Server Alerts > Core Server Alerts

The Event ID for a successfull backup is 5633, so it would probably be easiest to just copy the alert for Backup Failure and then modify it with the new Event ID and change Error to Information.  (This will make more sense when you are looking at the properties of the alert).  Then, modify the action to use the new email action you created.

If you need further information about this let me know... I didn't provide a lot of the details but the health monitor setup is pretty logical.

wow, I was hoping this could be a bit easier ;)

The most important thing I need to obtain, if possible, is to eject the tape after a successful backup .... but since I din't know this is possible I chose for the email notification.
Is it possible to eject the tape after a successfull backup?

I started to use sbs backup, because it is cheap, and seemed a quite good solution....
It looks good, but there are some things missing like the eject option and a notification option.

perhaps some more details would be interesting indeed :-)
already a big thank you for the info Jeff !!!

I can't find any backup related events in the system event logs :/
I checked, everything is logged...
I see 2 successfull backups in the server management console, but I don't see anything logged in the eventvwr ...

guess I will need some more help here :))

Well, first of all, here's a visual how-to for adding the email alert if you still want to:
http://www.smallbizserver.net/Articles/tabid/266/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/143/Add-an-email-alert-after-successful-backup.aspx

You'll notice that Page two of this article will show you how to eject the tape after a successful backup as well.

Aha, thank you for the article, that helped alot.
The alerts are configured fine, but it doesn't send any mail ... .
My email address is in the to... field in the 'send email with monitoring alert' properties.
I see a successfull alert for send email, but no email was actually send :)
Any idea why?
